How Do You Earn a Gold Campaign Star?
Winning every mission is only part of the Easy Red 2 gold star challenge. For the campaign marker, you need to complete every battle from both sides and meet the one-respawn requirement in each battle. That makes survival matter alongside victory: clearing the campaign once leaves more work to do.
On the PC campaign screen, silver stars track completion before you reach gold. Use them to identify whether you still need to finish missions, play the opposing side, or improve your survival performance.
| Campaign marker | What it means |
|---|---|
| No stars | You still have missions to complete. |
| One silver star | You have completed every mission, but have not completed them all from both sides. |
| Two silver stars | You have completed every mission from both sides, but have not met the gold survival requirement throughout. |
| Gold | You have completed the campaign from both sides with each battle meeting the one-respawn requirement. |
Keep the respawn target separate from your kill count. Focus your attempt on finishing the mission successfully while staying alive.

Do Dog Tags Count Toward Gold?
Dog tags are separate from the campaign’s gold-star requirement. You can earn gold without collecting every dog tag, and collecting them all does not replace the required mission completions.

Keep collectible hunting and survival attempts separate. During a gold attempt, stay focused on the objective instead of taking an unnecessary detour for a dog tag.
Playing both sides also deserves its own checklist. After finishing a mission with one army, record that completion separately from the opposing army’s run. Work through every battle this way so a familiar mission name does not hide an unfinished side.
How to Survive Your Campaign Attempts
Learn the mission before committing to a survival attempt. Use training to practice movement, weapon handling, equipment, and the role you intend to play. Reloading or navigating an unfamiliar menu under fire adds avoidable pressure.

Once you enter the battle:
- Check the map before advancing. Identify the objective and use terrain to plan your movement.
- Move between cover positions. Use buildings, forests, and changes in elevation instead of crossing exposed ground unnecessarily.
- Flank entrenched enemies. Approach from the side rather than repeatedly attacking the same firing lane.
- Advance under covering fire. Let friendly fire suppress an enemy position before moving toward it.
- Keep your radioman nearby when leading a squad. Squad-leader support abilities depend on radio support.
Choose a role whose equipment you already understand. Practice specialized jobs, including vehicle operation and support calls, before making them part of a low-respawn run.
The radioman role also involves entering coordinates for artillery support requests, giving you a direct task when your squad leader calls for support.
What to Do When a Campaign Star Is Missing
Before replaying an entire campaign, exit the game normally and launch it again. On PC, mission completion credit can remain absent from the campaign display until the next session.

Check your battle settings, too. Custom adjustments can trigger an achievement-ineligibility warning. Use a standard difficulty preset and watch for that warning before investing time in another completion attempt.
Work through the remaining checks in this order:
- Restart and inspect the campaign screen. Give the completion display a chance to refresh.
- Review every mission from both sides. Look for an opposing-side victory you skipped.
- Revisit runs with excess respawns. Prioritize battles where survival broke down.
- Check eligibility warnings before retrying. Avoid repeating a long mission under settings that disable achievements.
Keep a short record of the mission, side, and respawns after each attempt. Use it to target unfinished runs when you return to the campaign.
