What Does the Stalingrad DLC Include?

Easy Red 2 Stalingrad takes the fighting from the Volga River into a ruined city and the armored battles beyond it. The expansion adds an Eastern Front campaign, Soviet weapons, vehicles, uniforms, and Russian voice acting. You need the base game to play, so factor that into your purchase before heading into battle.

The campaign covers late 1942 through early 1943. Its scenarios include the Volga crossing, infantry combat inside the devastated city, and armored engagements in the suburbs and surrounding countryside. That range matters: the campaign includes both urban fighting and open terrain where vehicles become part of the tactical problem.

Alongside the campaign, the expansion adds props, items, and buildings for the Mission Editor. On PC, those additions give scenario creators more material for building their own Eastern Front battles.

Soviet Weapons Added by the Expansion

The infantry arsenal includes several recognizable Soviet weapons:

  • PPSH41
  • Mosin 91/30 and M38: Rifle and carbine options.
  • SVT-40
  • DP28
  • PTRD-41
  • TT-33
  • RGD-33: A grenade.

Experiment with the weapons available to your squad while learning the game's equipment management. Practice handling and reloading before taking on unfamiliar roles; the game places weapon simulation alongside squad command and battlefield movement.

The SVT-40 received another animation pass in version 2.1.1, “Cold Steel,” released November 1, 2026. Its first-person animations, idle position, scope position, and cartridge visibility during reloads were adjusted, while its animation timings stayed the same.

That distinction helps returning players: the presentation changed without a timing change to relearn.

Tanks, Aircraft, and Support Equipment

The expansion adds more than infantry equipment. Its vehicle and support roster includes:

  • Armor: T34-76, T34-85, KV1, KV2, BT-7, BA-10, and SU-76.
  • Guns and launchers: Zis-3 cannon, Katyusha, and standard and anti-aircraft Maxim MG variants.
  • Transport: Zis troop trucks, anti-aircraft trucks, and steam boats.
  • Aircraft: IL-2 and BF-110.

These additions support the game's combined arms combat, with infantry, armored vehicles, guns, and aircraft sharing the battlefield.

Use training to learn vehicle roles before taking responsibility for a tank or aircraft in combat.

Version 2.1.1 also changed Soviet vehicle details. BT-7, KV-2, and BA-10 received early-war gunner sights, while machine guns on vehicles including the T-34 family and KV tanks changed to DT-29. The BT-7 received reworked models and separate obr. 1935 and obr. 1937 variants.

How to Approach the Campaign’s Battles

Move between cover with support

Use buildings and terrain to plan your advance. Before crossing exposed ground, identify the position you want to reach and the enemy position that threatens the route.

Coordinate movement with covering fire. Have one element fire while another moves, then switch responsibilities once the moving soldiers reach cover. This gives your squad a practical way to advance without everyone leaving their firing positions together.

Version 2.1.1 made furniture placed in missions destructible, including tables, couches, shelves, and beds. Favor substantial terrain and structural cover over furniture when choosing where to stop.

Flank defended positions

When an enemy holds your squad in a frontal exchange, look for a route toward its side. Keep supporting fire on the position while maneuvering troops take another angle.

Check the map during the move and coordinate with your squad. A flank needs both a useful route and support from soldiers who can keep engaging the defenders.

Keep the radio operator close

The radio operator enables the squad leader's support calls. Keep that soldier nearby when preparing to request artillery or tank support.

Playing the radio operator also involves entering coordinates for a requested call. Practice that interaction before relying on it during a firefight, especially if you usually play a rifleman or marksman.

Learn each infantry role

Use training to practice the medic's tools, squad orders, and support requests. Then experiment with the roles your mission offers, including rifleman, marksman, machine gunner, sapper, medic, squad leader, and radio operator.

Choose a role with a specific task in mind: treating casualties, providing covering fire, directing the squad, or handling an objective that requires explosives.

Single-Player, Multiplayer, and PC Creation Tools

The Steam version supports single-player, online co-op, and online PvP. Solo play lets you fight alongside AI squads and use squad commands; co-op lets players coordinate their roles against AI opposition.

For co-op, agree on responsibilities before an attack. Assign someone to handle leadership and support requests, then coordinate movement with the soldiers providing covering fire.

PC also offers the map editor and modding tools. The expansion's additional buildings and props expand the available scenario assets, while the game's scripting system supports custom mission behavior.

Keep DLC ownership in mind when building missions: version 2.1.1 skips editor items from expansions the player does not own.
